Who are we

Publicly accessible statement

Our commitments regarding independence, impartiality and conflict of interest management in our certification activities.

Public statement — Euro Quality System

EUROQUALITY SYSTEM (EQS) is a third-party certification body.

As such, we recognize the importance of impartiality in carrying out our management system certification activities. Proper management of conflicts of interest and the objectivity of our certification decisions are ensured through specific provisions.

A committee representing all stakeholders has been created to safeguard the impartiality of our certification system. This committee is called upon to participate in developing EQS policies on integrity and to counter any tendency to allow commercial considerations or other threats (personal interests, self-assessment, familiarity, intimidation) likely to hinder the objective and reliable delivery of certification services. Furthermore, this committee meets at least once a year to verify that EQS commitments regarding the impartiality of our certification processes, including decision-making, are upheld.

Legal and financial independence

EQS is legally independent from related entities. EQS has equity capital that enables it to work in full financial independence. Furthermore, its operational activity is sufficient to ensure financial balance.

Impartiality & Independence of EQS auditors

To prevent any risk of conflict of interest, EQS provides its auditors with assignment orders containing the identity of the candidate organization. By accepting them, they certify that they have not advised or trained that organization in the certification field in question during the two years following the end of the service. Furthermore, an auditor belonging to the same legal entity as a client organization cannot intervene in the certification activity of that organization.

Impartiality & Independence of EQS personnel

Each EQS employee personally commits to acting objectively and being free from any commercial, financial or other pressure that could compromise their impartiality. Furthermore, EQS employees commit to reporting any situation that could create a conflict of interest.

Impartiality & Independence of EQS certification arrangements

In accordance with applicable normative provisions, EQS commits to:

  • not to propose or provide management system consulting services. Furthermore, EQS prohibits any practice suggesting that certification will be simpler, cheaper, or faster if preceded by such consulting missions by a related entity (organization or person),
  • not to propose or provide internal audit services to clients certified by EQS. Furthermore, EQS prohibits certifying a management system for which it has performed internal audits, for a period of two years following the end of the service,
  • not to provide a certification service when a relationship risks compromising impartiality in an unacceptable manner,
  • not to propose certification services to another certification body,
  • not to subcontract its audits to a management system consulting organization,
  • not to present EQS certification activities as being linked to the activities of a consulting or training organization.
